SymNC

Hi..

Just installed a trial of SymNC and it's a very impressive software program.  I'm seriously considering buying the program but I have a couple of questions first.  I currently own a subscription to SymSMB, is there a discount for an upgrade?  I noticed on your website that discounts are available for other upgrades.

Also, SymSMB in itself is an awesome program, there doesn't seem any point in having both SymSMB and SymNC installed at the same time but would having both running at the same time cause any problems?

Finally, the discount offer of €47.96 is great but money is kinda tight over Christmas so what are the odds of being able to buy SymNC for a discount in the new year?

Thanks...

Nick Smile

Re: SymNC
Until following link will be valid, the discount license transfer opportunity is available for old Telexy's users: [LINK]
I don't like to force anyone to hurry up with this upgrade, but personally I think this offer is too good to last forever. You can count on this offer until January, if it will not be there, contact support with reference to this thread and you will get it.

Unlikely.

Because we are the owners and developers of SymSMB software,
a special efforts were made to make sure that these two programs could co-exist quite well. However, you are totally right, it doesn't make too much sense to keep SymSMB if SymNC is installed.

Re: SymNC

I put off buying SymNC as I thought I would wait until I upgraded my phone and then get the application.  Well...i've just got a new X6 and I have a couple of questions.....

Would it be possible to transfer my SymSMB license to the new handset?

Also, are there any promos available for SymNC?

Thanks..

Please have a look at this information: SymSMB. For the registered customers only. Re-download and Licence Transfer.

As far as I know some promo(s) should be available for SymSMB  users starting from June 1, 2010.

Re: SymNC

Thanks for sorting out the license swap quickly.  I have installed SymSMB on the new device and it's now registered.....

But i'm having a problem playing music.  I can access all my shares without a problem.  I'm able to copy files from and to the device without a problem but I get the following error when trying to play music wirelessly from PC to X6:

Description: Overflow

Hex: 0xfffffff7

Decimal: -9

If I copy the mp3 to the device and try to play with SymSMB, the player just freezes.

Any suggestions please?

If I upgrade to SymNC will things be better?

Thanks Smile

This is a completely expected reaction if latest SymSMB version is used on S60 5th phone in attempt to play mp3 file from computer.
The latest SymSMB version was created quite long time ago and before appearance of the S60 5th phone. That is why playing mp3 files from computer is not supported on S60 5th phones, also there is no full native support for touchscreen and probably a few other issues related to S60 5th phones.

... sounds like one of those issues as well.

Of course, any versions of SymPlayer or SymNC can be used on S60 5th phones to play mp3 files directly from computer. You may use Trial versions of these software products and see how they will work on S60 5th phones.
